Former child actress Mary-Kate Olsen has tied the knot to her French banker boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy, according to Page Six.
It’s believed the couple — who have been dating for three years — married in an intimate ceremony in New York City on Friday night.
The reception was reportedly held at a private residence in Manhattan where all 50 guests were served cocktails in a rear garden before dining indoors.
It’s claimed the notoriously private couple asked all attendees to hand in their mobile phones before entering the venue, where party decor consisted of ‘bowls and bowls of cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night’.
The couple have been engaged since March 2014, when Olivier proposed during a romantic getaway to Jamaica.
Sarkozy presented Olsen, 29, with a 4-carat vintage Cartier diamond ring after she accepted what was his second proposal.
Speaking about their wedding plans in May this year, the famed fashionista revealed she was contemplating designing her own gown, though stressed there was no hurry to get it sorted.
‘I’m like not even there yet,’ she told Women’s Wear Daily at the time.
‘I think it may be a matter of getting five or six or making two or three and being stressed out. That seems kind of far away. We’ll take one step at a time.’
It was originally believed that the couple — who live in a $13.5 million apartment in New York — were planning a 2016 wedding in the Hamptons, after a source told Us Weekly that they were ‘leading to a June event’.
The half brother of the former President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, fathers two children, Julien, 13, and Margo, 11, from his previous marriage to Charlotte Bernard, with sources previously claiming that the two youngsters approved of his engagement.
The American designer is also a hit among Sarkozy’s friends, who described her as ‘funny and sweet,’ according to Us Weekly‘s sources.
